To convert a disused cold-store into the dedicated hotel reservation/call centre. The cold-store had already been set-up as an office but was a totally unsuitable office space as it had no window, no natural light nor ventilation, no noise insulation, had hard cold tiled walls and floor and was adjacent to the main kitchen which was too noisy.
The re-design must address all these issues, accommodate 4 to 5 person/staff with adequate number of power & data sockets as well as being an affordable design.
NEW LAYOUT IMPROVEMENTS - The cold-store was stripped-out entirely, a new fully insulated and sound proofed office was rebuilt.
A new full-height glazed entrance door and a new corner window was added addressing the lack of natural light and ventilation. The new corner window also provided the staff with a direct view of the BOH main entrance.
All finishes materials were specifically selected for their high-acoustic properties as well as new affordable office furniture.

WC New Layout
To re-design the hotel guests' WC, to upgrade them in terms of design as well as sanitaryware, lighting and comfort and to ascertain whether a required new accessible WC is feasable within the existing WC layout (if not, find an alternative location within the hotel which was not desirable and a costlier option).
The re-design must reference the Paseo restaurant and retained the hotel's existing strong identity.

WC PROJECT - THE BRIEF
THE bedroom suites, being inter-connected, one bathroom was given a bath with shower over and the other a double shower. Both layouts have curved corner walls, back-lit shelfs and double washbasins. This provided a much needed design upgrade as well as improvements on their original layouts such as removing the bidets and moving the WC so that the door no longer bangs into it.
The Pyrolvave bright orange glazed lava stone tiles and Marazzi Lume off-white glazed tiles provide a strong colour & texture contrast reminiscent of the original design.

BATHROOMS PROJECT - THE BRIEF
To re-design two bedroom suites' bathrooms, to upgrade them in terms of design as well as sanitaryware, lighting and comfort. These two bedroom suites have a inner-connecting door, and are often rented-out to families or a group of friends and the re-design must take that into consideration.
The re-design must also retained the hotel's strong existing identity.
